Tasks can be exported and imported via an XML file. Note that this XML file
works only with OfficeClip, so it cannot be used with other non-OfficeClip task
scheduling applications. This import/export feature allows tasks to be
transferred across groups within OfficeClip.
-
From the calendar, click Admin on the menu.
-
Click Import/Export Task XML.
-
To export, click Export. If using Internet Explorer, the XML
will open within the browser rather than allowing you to save it directly. To
save, right click on the XML file in the browser and select View
Source. The XML will open into Notepad, which
allows you to save the file.
-
To import, first select one of the three choices for import:
-
XML overrides OfficeClip tasks - task information in the XML
file will overwrite tasks in OfficeClip that have the same internal service id
(sid).
-
Only new tasks are added - only new tasks that are
present in the XML file (ones without an assigned sid) are added
to OfficeClip.
-
Only use internal XML commands - the XML file contains all the
directives to insert, update, or delete tasks.
-
Click Browse to browse to the file you wish to import.
-
Click Import.
-
Note that the XML schema for the file can be obtained by clicking the Click Here
link in the import instructions on the page. All XML tasks should conform
to this schema.
