A handshake is a short ritual in which two people grasp their right or left hands, often accompanied by a brief shake of the grasped hands. It is commonly done upon meeting, departing, offering congratulations, or completing an agreement. Its purpose is to demonstrate good will, and possibly originated as a gesture showing that the hand holds no weapon.
Frequently we get asked, what makes your business different. Three aspects come to mind: our customers, employees and a real desire to be the best partners our clients could wish to find. The reality is many of our customers deal with us over a long period; 12 of our first 25 customers in the late 1980s are still with us today, 18 years later. Many of our people have a minimum of 5 years service, many over 10 years. Of course statistics means nothing if such attributes can't be translated into commercial success. In the last 2 years alone our turnover has doubled and our retained assets have quadrupled. All within a market where margins are constantly squeezed.
